My Hero Academia Watch Now: Hulu | Netflix | Crunchyroll | Funimation
With currently 113 episodes and season 5 just finishing up last year, My Hero Academia is still going strong since it’s premier in 2016. And since it’s been going on for so long, you’ve probably already heard of it before. But perhaps you found yourself wondering if it’s actually worth the watch. Luckily for you, we’ve come up with 5 reasons why you should add it to your watch list! So check out why you should watch My Hero Academia now!
Reason 1 – The Plot
Izuku Midoriya is a boy born without superpowers in a world where almost everyone has a superpower – known as a Quirk. However, Midoriya still dreams of becoming a superhero, despite not having any powers. Then Midoriya meets one of the world’s greatest heroes and someone who he has idolized his entire life – All Might. All Might chooses Midoriya as his successor after seeing his potential. And so he helps to enroll Midoriya into a prestigious high school for superheroes in training.
Reason 2 – The Protagonist
Midoriya is a character you can’t help but want to root for. Despite the fact that he was born Quirkless, he never gave up on his dream to become a hero. He worked hard to get where he is and you can’t help but want the best for him.
Reason 3 – An Interesting Take On The Superhero Genre
Normally in media when there’s a show or movie about superheroes, the hero is the odd one out with a special power that no one else has. However, in the MHA universe, around 80% of the population has a superpower. So, there are so many interesting and fun powers around. Uraraka can make objects weightless; Todoroki can generate ice from the right side of his body and fire from the left; Aoyama can fire a laser blast from his belly button. You get the idea. There are a lot of cool and unique Quirks around to keep you entertained.
Reason 4 – Exciting Fights
And since almost everyone is a superhero, that means there are a lot of epic fight scenes that will keep you hooked on the show. With all of the characters using their own unique Quirks to fight, there’s always something exciting going on. You may want to avoid spoilers, but this showcases some of the best fights from seasons 1-4.
Reason 5 – Villains
Like every show, there’s always an antagonist. And MHA has a fair few itself. Since we’re in a world filled with superpowers that means the villains also have their own powers as well. Which makes them formidable opponents for even the strongest of heroes.
