This could be a case for Mulder and Scully! There are a total of eleven seasons available so this series will keep you occupied for a while. And this show is now a cult classic with a huge fanbase – so what are you waiting for – the truth is out there!

Star Trek The Next Generation

Decades after the adventures of the original Enterprise crew, Capt. Jean-Luc Picard leads a new Enterprise on missions to explore unknown worlds.

This sci fi series aired 1987 to 1994 with 178 episodes over seven seasons. This is the third series in the Star Trek TV series franchise. The show has been immensely popular and the series finale had a viewership of 30 million. So whether you are a Star Trek fan or not then give this series a watch!

The Twilight Zone

Rod Serling’s seminal anthology series focused on ordinary folks who suddenly found themselves in extraordinary, usually supernatural, situations.

This is an anthology sci fi show than ran for five seasons from 1959 to 1963, there were also two movies made. This show has been ranked as one of the best TV shows of all time. It has spawned a whole franchise and is often referenced in popular culture. Definitely one not to miss!

Doctor Who

Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme broadcast by the BBC since 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS.

The Book Of Boba Fett

Bounty hunter Boba Fett & mercenary Fennec Shand navigate the underworld when they return to Tatooine to claim Jabba the Hutt’s old turf.

This is another space western TV series in the Star Wars franchise and is a spin off of the aforementioned The Mandalorian. The show also is set directly after Return Of The Jedi and stars Temuera Morrison as the title character. So far there is only one series but it is highly expected that there will be more!

Loki

The mercurial villain Loki resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.”

This is the third TV series in the MCU Franchise and has Tom Hiddleston reprising his role from the movies as the titular character. There has only been one series so far but a second is in the making. The show has been a big hit with critics and fans alike. With praise has been high for the acting performance, musical score and visuals. An amazing series that you don’t want to miss!

The Orville

From Emmy Award-winning executive producer and creator Seth MacFarlane, THE ORVILLE is a live-action, one-hour space adventure series set 400 years in the future that follows The Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of everyday life.

This is a sci fi comedy drama, there are two seasons available so far with a third series arriving on Hulu in June 2022. Although the first season was generally negatively reviewed. But series two was considered to be much improved. So this means that season three can only get better!

Snowpiercer

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation.

This is a post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller which is based on both the movie of the same name and the book Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob. There are currently three seasons available and a fourth series has just been confirmed.

Doom Patrol

DOOM PATROL reimagines one of DC’s most beloved groups of Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Niles Caulder aka The Chief. Called to action by Cyborg aka Vic Stone, the Doom Patrol – part support group, part Super Hero team – is a band of superpowered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.

This superhero TV show is based on the DC comics of the same name. There are three seasons available already and a fourth series has been confirmed. And every season has been well received, with each season only getting better. So watch this now before season four hits!

Altered Carbon

After 250 years on ice, a prisoner returns to life in a new body with one chance to win his freedom: by solving a mind-bending murder.

Starring: Anthony Mackie, Lela Loren, Simone Missick

This cyberpunk series is based on the book of the same name by Richard K. Morgan. After the first season a second series was quickly confirmed. But despite the show receiving mostly positive reviews the third season was cancelled. Despite this then it is still definitely worth watching the two season that have been made of this amazing book adaption.

Taken

The series follows a former Green Beret, Bryan Mills, as he deals with a personal tragedy that shakes his world. As he fights to overcome the incident and exact revenge, Mills is pulled into a career as a deadly CIA operative, a job that awakens his very particular, and very dangerous, set of skills.

This is a TV mini series directed by Steven Spielberg. It follows the lives of three families as they try to cover up the Roswell crash. The show aired in 2002 and was very popular at the time and received many positive reviews.

Battlestar Galactica

When an old enemy, the Cylons, resurface and obliterate the 12 colonies, the crew of the aged Galactica protect a small civilian fleet – the last of humanity – as they journey toward the fabled 13th colony, Earth.

The original Battlestar Galactica ran from 1978 – 1980 and was rebooted from 2003 – 2012.

Cowboy Bebop (1998)

In search of his love Julia and his enemy Vicious, Spike works on the spaceship Bebop as a bounty hunter – known as Cowboys. Spike and Jet, a former ISSP (Inter Solar System Police) officer, are working together hunting criminals. They are later joined by Ed, Ein, and Faye Valentine.

Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door (2001)

Days before Halloween, a man explodes a truck in Mars’ capital city, spreading a new pathogen that kills and sickens over 300 people. In response, a record bounty of 300 million woolong is placed on the culprit’s capture. So, after Faye spots the terrorist, the Bebop crew decide to take on the bounty.

In 2021, a live action remake of the original anime was released on Netflix. Although it has not been as well received as the original, it’s received a lot of praise for its cast. Netflix has recently confirmed that it has cancelled any further series of the live action remake. So we won’t be getting any more of this series. Check out the trailer below!

Cowboy Bebop (1998)

But it’s impossible to do correctly. The transmutation leaves Al without a body and Ed without his left leg and his right arm. With prosthetics made for Ed and Al’s soul in a suit of amour, they burn down their home. And become State Alchemists in an attempt to find the Philosopher’s Stone and regain their full bodies back.

One Punch Man (2015-2019)

Saitama is a superhero who can defeat any opponent with just a single punch. But after growing bored of the lack of challenge, he seeks out a worthy opponent. So Saitama becomes a reluctant mentor of Genos, a cyborg seeking revenge against another cyborg who killed his family and destroyed his hometown.

Steins;Gate (2011-2015)

Rintaro Okabe – a self-proclaimed “mad scientist” – and his friends accidentally discover a method of time travel. They can send text messages to the past, thereby changing the present.

No. 6 (2011-)

In a dystopian city known as No. 6, Shion – a boy raised in the elite and privileged environment of his home – gives shelter to another boy, Nezumi. What Shion soon discovers is how drastically his life will change after meeting with the mysterious Nezumi.

Darling in the Franxx (2018)

Set in a dystopian future where children are artificially created and made to defend the remnants of civilization, the story follows a squad of ten pilots. Particularly the partnership between former prodigy Hiro and Zero Two, a hybrid human and elite pilot.

Plastic Memories (2019)

Humans and androids with human-like appearances live side by side. SAI Corp, the leading android production company, introduce Giftia – the most human-like androids. But they have a lifespan of roughly nine years and four months. Tsukasa Mizugaki is the newest member of Terminal Service One – who collects Giftias when they reach the end of their life spans.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K (2016-)

To the average person, psychic powers may seem like a great gift, but to Saiki Kusou, they’re more of an annoyance. Saiki wants to be a normal high school student and avoid attention. But that’s difficult when you’re a super-powerful psychic and situations where you need to use your powers always seem to arise.

Gintama (2005-2018)

Set in the Edo period, humanity has been conquered by aliens named Amanto. Gintoki Sakata is a samurai who works as a freelancer, alongside his friends Sinpachi Shimura and Kagura, in order to pay the monthly rent.

Dr Stone (2019-)

In the year 2038 AD, a mysterious flash suddenly petrifies nearly all human life. 3,700 years pass with the human race frozen in stone until a 15-year-old scientific prodigy, Senku Ishigami, is suddenly revived. Alone in the world, Senku experiments with ways to rebuild humanity again.

Code Geass (2006-2012)

The Holy Empire of Britannia conquered the country known as Japan and now call it Area 11. Its residents lost their rights to self-govern and are now called Elevens. The Empire uses destructive robotic weapons to ensure control, but someone is about to stand up to it. Lelouch, the black prince, can use the power of the Geass to build a world based on his ideals.

Parasyte (2014-2015)

All of a sudden parasitic aliens descended upon Earth and quickly infiltrated by burrowing into the brains of vulnerable victims. They acquire full control of their hosts and can morph into a variety of forms. High school student Shinichi Izumi is one of those victims, but quick thinking meant that the parasite didn’t reach his brain. But now his right hand is infected instead.

PSYCHO-PASS (2012-)

In the 22nd century, there is the Sibyl System, an objective means of determining the threat level of each citizen by examining their mental state for signs of criminal intent – also known as their Psycho-Pass. Akane Tsunemori is a novice Inspector. However, as she works alongside veteran Enforcer Shinya Kougami, she soon learns that the Sibyl System’s judgments are not as perfect as her fellow Inspectors assume.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995-1996)

Fifteen years after a worldwide cataclysm, Shinji is a teenage boy who was recruited by his father to the shadowy organization Nerv. This is where he’ll need to pilot a giant bio-machine mecha named Evangelion into combat against beings known as Angels.

Inuyashiki (2017)

Inuyaskiki Ichiro was struck by an explosion of extraterrestrial origin and his body is replaced by an incredibly powerful mechanical body. He dedicates himself to using his powers to do good. However, the teenager with him at the time of the explosion, Shishigami Hiro, had the same fate. But Hiro uses his newfound abilities to murder various people for amusement.

Ergo Proxy (2006)

Within the domed city of Romdo lies one of the last human civilizations on Earth. Humanoid-like robots have been created to assist. However, they have begun contracting a disease which grants them self-awareness. Re-l Mayer is assigned to investigate this phenomenon.

Gurren Lagann (2007)

Simon and Kamina were born and raised in a deep, underground village. One day while excavating the earth, Simon stumbles upon a mysterious object that turns out to be the ignition key to an ancient artifact of war. So, Simon and Kamina to set off on a journey alongside Yoko to explore the wastelands of the surface.

Sword Art Online (2012-)

Sword Art Online, or “SAO,” is a video game. It offers a VR gateway into the wondrous world of Aincrad. However, the idyllic fantasy rapidly becomes a brutal nightmare when SAO’s creator traps thousands of players inside the game. So they are unable to return to the real world.

Outlaw Star (1998)

Gene Starwind has always dreamed of piloting his own ship out into the vast sea of stars. Unfortunately, not all dreams come true. He spends his days working odd jobs alongside his partner, James Hawking, on the small planet Sentinel III instead. However, this all takes a turn when the duo takes on a job from Rachel Sweet.

Promised Neverland (2019-2021)

Three gifted children of an idyllic orphanage accidentally discover the sinister purpose that they were raised for. They know the need to escape, but time is running out as one of them is about to be ‘adopted’. But they need to come up with a plan in time that lets them all escape with the younger children.

Castlevania (2017-2021)

Trevor Belmont, the last surviving member of his family, is on a quest to save Europe from Dracula’s plan for human extinction. Along the way, he meets the son of Dracula, Alucard, who rejects his father’s ideology, and Cipher, a powerful witch from Wallachia, who aids him in his hunt. But Dracula has more problems than Trevor and his team: a beautiful vampire queen from Styria, Carmilla, who wants to take away his power.

Attack on Titan (2013-)

Centuries ago, humanity was forced to retreat behind 50-meter tall walls for protection from titans, giant humanoid creatures that prey on humans. Then suddenly a titan appears that stands 60-meters tall and with one kick, brings the years of safety to an end. With his mother dead and father missing, Eren swears to get revenge and slaughter every titan. Eren joins the Military with his friends Armin and Mikasa to fight the titans and take back their home. But when strange things start happening, the Military soon realizes the enemy may be closer than they think.

Based on the popular manga series, a lot of anime fan love this show!

Jujutsu Kaisen (2020-)

Yuji Itadori is a normal high school student and a member of the Occult Research Club. Meanwhile, Yuji’s friends at the Occult Club unseal a talisman they found at the school, a rotting finger, which attracts Curses to them. Unable to properly protect them and Megumi, Yuji does the only thing he can think of – he swallows the finger.

Soul Eater (2008-2009)

Death City is home to the famous Death Weapon Meister Academy. Its mission is to raise ‘Death Scythes’ for the Shinigami to wield against the many evils of their world. These Death Scythes are born from human hybrids who have the ability to transform into Demon Weapons, but only after they have consumed the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch’s soul. This follows the story of the Demon Weapon, Soul Eater Evans, and his wielder, Maka Albarn.

To Your Eternity (2021-)

A mysterious, immortal being known as ‘the Orb’ – or Fushi – is sent down to Earth. Fushi is able to take the shape of those that leave a strong impression on it, in order to stimulate as it learns what it is to be truly human. The story follows Fushi as it travels, learning about the world and the people living in it.

Demon Slayer (2019-)

On his way back home after traveling to the village, Tanjiro takes shelter overnight in the house of a man who warns him of flesh-eating demons that lurk in the woods at night. When he returns home, he is met with a horrifying sight. With his young girl sister turned into a demon, yet still showing emotions and remnants of her lost humanity, he vows to protect her and becomes a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. He will do whatever it takes to slay demons and protect his sister.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure (2012-)

This tells the story of the Joestar family, where various members discover that they are destined to take down supernatural forces using their powers. Each member of the Joestar family has their own unique part, where their names can typically be abbreviated to ‘JoJo’.

Tokyo Ghoul (2014-2015)

Ghouls live among humans, they look like normal people, but they can survive only by eating human flesh. Ken Kaneki is a normal student when a date goes badly and she reveals herself to be a ghoul. Then a freak accident happens, one which he barely survives, and his life changes forever.

Fate/Zero (2011-2012)

Seven chosen mages and their summoned heroic spirit fight against each other to try to win the Holy Grail – a device that can grant any wish. This anime follows the story of Kiritsugu and his summoned spirit, Saber, as they fight in the cutthroat game of survival.

The Seven Deadly Sins (2014-)

A small subset of powerful knights that were said to have betrayed their homeland and comrades in an attempt to overthrow the ruler was defeated by the Holy Knights of Britannia, but rumors say that they still exist as the Seven Deadly Sins. But the Holy Knights stages a coup and are now the tyrannical leaders. The third princess of the kingdom, Elizabeth, is in search of the Seven Deadly Sins, to take back her kingdom.

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic (2012-2013)

Each Magi must choose a worthy candidate to become a king, then helps them conquer strange labyrinths called Dungeons and acquire the power of mythical djinns within. Aladdin is a young Magi wandering the world in search of his true self. In his travels, Aladdin befriends Alibaba Saluja and guides him to a nearby Dungeon.

Black Clover (2017-2021)

Asta and Yuno were abandoned at the same church on the same day. Whilst Yuno grew up to be able to wield magic with amazing power and control, Asta cannot use magic at all. However, Yuno is attacked by Lebuty. Asta tries to fight, but he is outmatched. Unleashing his inner emotions in a rage, Asta receives a five-leaf clover Grimoire, a “Black Clover” giving him enough power to defeat Lebuty. Now, Yuno and Asta are ready for the hardest of challenges to achieve their common dream: to be the Wizard King.

Fairy Tail (2009-2019)

Kagome Higurashi’s 15th birthday takes a sudden turn when she is forcefully pulled by a demon into the old well of her family’s shrine. She finds herself persistently hunted by creatures, all yearning for an item she carries: the Shikon Jewel. Kagome encounters a half-demon boy named Inuyasha. After realizing the dire circumstances they are both in, he sets aside his hostility and lends her a hand.

Dragon Ball Z (1989-2003)

Five years after winning the World Martial Arts tournament, Goku is now living a peaceful life with his wife and son. However, with the arrival of a mysterious enemy named Raditz who presents himself as Goku’s long-lost brother, everything changes. With his failed attempt at forcibly recruiting Goku as an ally, Raditz warns Goku’s friends of a new threat that’s rapidly approaching Earth. One that could plunge Earth into an intergalactic conflict and cause the heavens themselves to shake.

The Rising of The Shield Hero (2019-)

The Four Cardinal Heroes are a group of ordinary men from modern-day Japan summoned to the kingdom of Melromarc to become its saviors. The four heroes are respectively bestowed a sword, spear, bow, and shield. Naofumi Iwatani, an otaku, becomes cursed with the fate of being the “Shield Hero.” When the heroes are provided with resources and comrades to train with, Naofumi sets out with the only person willing to train alongside him, Malty Melromarc.

One Piece (1999-)

After accidentally eating a Devil Fruit, which means that his body has gained the property of rubber, Monkey D. Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the world’s ultimate treasure known as “One Piece” in order to become the next pirate king. He is accompanied by his crew of pirates, named the Straw Hat Pirates.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K (2016 -)

The Witcher TV Series is based on the The Witcher Book Series (consisting of 6 fantasy novels and 15 short stories) written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.  The series is set in an unnamed continent and revolves around the protagonist, renowned monster-slayer-for-hire Geralt of Rivia, a powerful sorceress Yennefer of Venderburg and Ciri, a girl who is described as Geralt’s destiny. 

After the books obtained something of a cult following in Central and Eastern European countries, the series was successfully adapted into a trilogy of Video Games by CD Projekt Red (with the third title in the series Witcher: Wild Hunt selling over 50 million copies).  The most recent addition to the franchise is the Netflix TV show which released in 2019 with a second series set to air on December 17 2021.
